Southeast Michigan Men’s Retreat, May 13-14, 2022

Men, the lockdowns are over and the time has arrived to make plans for another men’s retreat!  Just as in the past, there will be plenty of fun, food, fellowship, and (above all) a transforming challenge from the Word of God.

Our guest speaker is Gerald Priest, professor of homiletics (preaching) and church history at Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary (retired). Dr. Priest is an able minister of the Word of God and has been an influential and encouraging friend to many of us. He will deliver a timely series of messages for men.

Fortifying Faith (Hebrews 11:1-2)

  • The Need to Fortify Faith
  • Fortifying Your Faith
  • Fortifying the Faith of Others
After explaining the passage and its important role in Hebrews, the sessions will draw out some practical suggestions and applications. This particular topic was born from a burden to minister more effectively to family and members of the local church. Dr. Priest will share what he and his wife have been doing to make this happen. He will also solicit suggestions and ideas from men attending the retreat, i.e., “What strategies are you using to fortify faith” that would be of mutual benefit?

About Our Annual Men’s Retreat

Each May Huron Baptist Church hosts a golf outing and Men’s Retreat In Hillsdale, Michigan. The retreat takes place at Michindoh Camp and Conference Center. We enjoy two days of fellowship with men from several other churches that share our faith and practices. The focus of our retreat is a series of timely messages designed to equip men to follow Christ and lead their families. We invite a guest speaker each year who has demonstrated faithfulness in ministry and excellence in communicating the truth of God’s word.
