Ladies of all ages encourage and build each other up in the faith through the study and application of God’s Word through book studies, prayer, fellowships, retreats, activities, and in service to each other and the church body.
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up…
I Thessalonians 5:11 (ESV)
Sisters in Christ
Sisters in Christ is monthly meeting that encourages spiritual growth through fellowship and Bible study. It includes a book study designed to deepen relationships and build one another up in the Christian life. The current book study is Choosing Gratitude, by Nancy Leigh DeMoss.
Preview:
A grateful man or woman will be a breath of fresh air in a world contaminated by bitterness and discontentment. And the person whose gratitude is a byproduct of and a response to the redeeming grace of God will showcase the heart of the gospel in a way that is winsome and compelling.
So unless you just love the way duty feels when it wakes you up at three in the morning, or hijacks your plans for your day off, or hands you an unexpected bill that wasn’t in the budget this month, don’t try living the Christian life without gratitude. By sheer willpower and effort, you may succeed at “gutting out” right responses, but your Christianity (so-called) will be hollow, hard-edged, and uninviting to others.
Women’s Retreats
Retreats are part of the ladies ministry schedule at HBC. These events provide spiritual refreshment and deepen relationships. Often the retreats are an opportunity to fellowship with ladies from other churches that share our commitments of faith. The Ladies Weekend at Peniel Bible Camp is a favorite location.
Adult Activities
Throughout the year we schedule several activities. Most are designed for the entire family, but a few are intended for adult fellowship, including both the women and men of the church. One of the recent favorites we call A Night at the Range. We rent a firing range, enjoy a meal together, and then have a “bang” together! An approved instructor gives instructions for novices and a skilled team oversees the range.
