Issues in Focus Conference
Saturday, August 6, 2022

In your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy,
always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you;
yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience . . .
1 Peter 3:15-16

The Issues in Focus Conference is a young adult gathering designed to help and encourage biblical thinking about worldview issues. It addresses questions about current issues that every Christian should be able to answer. The date for this year’s gathering is Saturday, August 6th.
Cost: The registration fee is $20. It includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and a conference workbook.

Our guest speaker is Michael Carlyle. Michael is a missionary. He has served in Cambodia as a pioneer church planter, focusing on discipleship and church planting. He teaches missions at seminaries both in the U.S. and abroad. Recently, he accepted a position with Bibles International to lead the newly formed Scripture Engagement team. Michael holds M.B.S. and M.Div. degrees from Virginia Beach Theological Seminary and is currently in the D.Min. program at Bob Jones University. Michael possesses special expertise in cross-cultural ministry.

Theme: Standing Firm in a Shifting World

Each of the presentations will discuss maintaining a Christian worldview in the face of our current situation where culture is constantly and rapidly evolving (or better, devolving) through the influence of the entertainment industry and corporate and social media. Attention will be given to Matthew 7:24-27 as a key thematic passage.
