Introduction

This Lord’s Day we begin the New Year by observing the Lord’s Table. The purpose of the Lord’s Table is to remember Christ (Luke 22:19). Our service will focus on what it means to remember Him.

I.   To remember Christ is to think clearly about what we once were.

A.   The cross brings us face to face with the ugliness of our sin.

B.   The cross becomes dearer to us as we own the reality of our sin.

II.   To remember Christ is to bow in stunned amazement at the Father’s love.

III.    To remember Christ is to delight in the joys of new life.

A.   We rejoice in the certainty that we are free from condemnation.

C.   We delight in the hope of an eternity in his presence.
