This Lord’s Day we will observe the Lord’s Table, a rite of solemn joy. We will remember the work of Christ through the lens of Hebrews 10:11-14. This text contrasts the endless sacrifices made by the Temple priests with one sacrifice of Christ. One element of the contrast is the fact that the priest “stands,” symbolizing continual work and continually offers sacrifices. But Christ, having made one sacrifice for sin is now seated at the right hand of the Father.
