Things to Consider . . .

We endeavor to pray for one another and for our ministry in a way that is consistent with biblical examples and teachings (Matthew 6:9-13; Colossians 4:2-4; 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3). To that end, please carefully consider these goals:

PURPOSE: Requests submitted here should focus on spiritual matters. The apostle Paul included a spiritual purpose in his intercessory prayers recorded in the Bible (e.g., 2 Thess. 1:11-12, “we constantly pray for you . . . we pray this so that . . . “). Ask: What spiritual goal(s) motivate this request?

SCOPE: Since this is a tool to facilitate corporate prayer, requests submitted here should relate directly to the members, ministries, or service opportunities of Huron Baptist Church. Published requests are intended for the church to use when it gathers to pray for each other or for individuals to use when they pray for the church. Ask: How does this request relate to our congregation?

PROPRIETY: Requests submitted here should be appropriate for public distribution. When submitting a request that involves someone else, seek their approval first. They should never include private details or information that could violate state privacy laws. Ask: Are these details essential to this request? Are these details potentially embarrassing or harmful?

Note: A prayer request list will be published on the first Sunday of each month. Please submit your request at least one week in advance. Each request will be reviewed prior to publication. You will be contacted if the request requires clarification or modification.
