As a pastor for 30 years, I worked through what the Bible teaches about worship and a biblical philosophy of ministry. I determined what sound preaching is like. I carefully considered what God looks for in a church. Suddenly my wife and I found ourselves looking for a church. We visited 12 churches in 12 weeks and attended what we considered some good churches with good preaching. At Huron Baptist Church we found a place where we are fed the Word of God with outstanding preaching and teaching of God’s Word. Not only that, but this church shares our philosophy of ministry and actually demonstrates what God looks for in a church. That comes from the leadership—but in the overall membership we found fellowship and friends. These are people with genuine Christianity who love and serve others. This is the place where we stopped and stayed; this is our church family; this is home.
